Does the Paris Museum Pass Include the Eiffel Tower?
No — the Eiffel Tower isn’t covered. Here’s why, and how to book it alongside your pass.

Why the Eiffel Tower Isn’t Covered
The Paris Museum Pass covers permanent collections at 55+ national museums, monuments, and châteaux managed by the Réunion des musées nationaux and related public bodies. The Eiffel Tower is run by the Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE), a separate operator — not part of the national museum network the pass draws from. That’s the same reason the Catacombs and Opéra Garnier aren’t covered either.
How to Book the Eiffel Tower Separately
Book online in advance — slots sell out weeks ahead in peak season. Choose stairs for the most affordable route to the 2nd floor, elevator for a faster, easier climb, or push all the way to the summit for the best panoramic views in Paris. Guided and audio options add context you won’t get with a standalone ticket.

When Slots Actually Sell Out
Summit tickets in July–August often sell out 2–3 weeks ahead; 2nd floor stairs tickets stay available closer to your date. December–February, same-day summit slots are frequently still bookable. If your trip falls June–September, book the summit at least 3 weeks out.
Best Time of Day to Visit
| Time | Why |
|---|---|
| First slot (9:30am) | Shortest queues, clearest photos |
| Sunset | Best light, busiest — book 1hr before |
| After dark | City lights + hourly tower light show |
Eiffel Tower vs Museum Pass — the Real Cost Picture
| Plan | Cost |
|---|---|
| Eiffel Tower alone (summit) | €69–79 (~$75–86) |
| Eiffel Tower + 2 pass venues bought separately | €69 + ~€48 = ~€117 (~$127) |
| Paris Museum Pass 2-day + Eiffel Tower ticket | €90 + €39 = €129 (~$140) (covers 4+ venues, not just 2) |
The Eiffel Tower and pass are separate purchases either way — the pass only pays off once you’re visiting several pass-covered venues too.
Which Ticket Suits You
- Budget or active travellers — stairs to 2nd floor
- Limited mobility or short on time — elevator options
- Photographers / best views — summit, off-peak or sunset
- First-timers wanting context — guided tour or audioguide option
Practical Notes
Airport-style security screening applies at entry — arrive 20–30 min before your slot. Wind speeds above ~90km/h can close summit access (2nd floor usually stays open); Tiqets/official notices will confirm same-day. One cabin-sized bag per person; no large luggage.
Pairing It With Your Pass Itinerary
Book your Eiffel Tower slot for a day that isn’t packed with pass venues — it’s a stand-alone visit of 1.5–2 hours. It sits near the Musée du Quai Branly (a 10-minute walk), which is covered by the pass and pairs well before or after.
