Paris Tourist Offices

The official Paris tourist offices (Paris je t’aime) are the most reliable in-person option. Staff are helpful, stock is generally available, and most locations sell all three pass durations.

Hôtel de Ville Tourist Office
Recommended
29 Rue de Rivoli, 75004 Paris
Monday–Saturday 10:00–19:00
Central location near Notre-Dame. Easy to reach on foot from the Marais, Île de la Cité, and many central hotels. Consistently well stocked with all pass types.
Gare du Nord Tourist Office
Airport arrivals
18 Rue de Dunkerque, 75010 Paris
Daily 08:00–18:00
Ideal if you arrive by Eurostar or CDG RER. Located just outside the main station building. Useful for travellers coming from London or other northern European cities who want to buy on arrival.
Champs-Élysées Tourist Office
Central
68 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris

Located on the busiest tourist street in Paris — expect queues, especially in summer. Not recommended as a first choice but convenient if you’re already on the Champs-Élysées.
Gare de Lyon Tourist Desk
TGV arrivals
Place Louis Armand, 75012 Paris
Monday–Saturday 08:00–18:00
Good option for travellers arriving by TGV from the south of France or by international train from Switzerland or Italy. Located within the main station.

Buying at Museum Ticket Windows

Several of the major museums covered by the pass sell it at their own ticket desks. This can be convenient if you’re already at the venue — but be aware that this puts you in the general ticket queue before you even have your pass.

Warning: At the Louvre and Versailles, you need a timed entry reservation even with a pass. Buying a pass at the Louvre ticket desk and then trying to enter the same day is not guaranteed — you need to have a timed slot pre-booked. See the mandatory reservations list →

Museums where you can buy the pass at the ticket desk include: Musée d’Orsay, Arc de Triomphe, Centre Pompidou, and several other mid-size venues. Stock at museum desks is not guaranteed.

FNAC Stores

FNAC is a large French electronics and entertainment retailer with several central Paris locations. Selected FNAC stores sell the Paris Museum Pass at the ticket counter — the same price as elsewhere.

Main FNAC locations in central Paris: Forum des Halles (underground mall, 1st arr.), Champs-Élysées (74 Ave des Champs-Élysées), and Montparnasse (136 Rue de Rennes). Stock varies by branch — call ahead if you’re making a special trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not reliably. There are no dedicated Museum Pass sales points at Charles de Gaulle or Orly airports. Some airport tourist information desks may carry stock, but this is inconsistent. The fastest option on arrival is to buy online — you receive your QR code by email immediately, even while you’re on the plane or in the terminal. If you plan to head straight to a museum on your first day, buy before you land.
The Louvre does sell the pass at its ticket windows, but this creates a problem: you’ll wait in the general queue to buy the pass, and then still need a pre-booked timed entry slot to actually enter. If you don’t have a timed slot, having a pass won’t get you in on the same day. Always book your Louvre timed slot before you go — and buy your pass online so you can do that in advance.
Generally yes, but hours can change during public holidays and seasonal periods. The Paris tourist office website (parisjetaime.com) has up-to-date hours for all locations. The Hôtel de Ville office tends to have the most consistent hours and stock levels of the central options.
Yes — the pass activates on your first use at a venue, not on the purchase date. You can buy in the morning and activate it at your first museum the same day. Just make sure you have any required timed entry reservations sorted first, particularly for the Louvre and Versailles. See how the pass works →
